Wanderers
Many Alzheimer's patients are prone to wandering or getting lost.  As a caregiver one of our most important tasks is to make sure our loved ones stay safe.  This can be a difficult task.  One of the most efficient means are security locks.  Although this accomplishes the prevention, it sometimes causes it's own problems.  Patients can become very obsessive about opening the door and can become very agitated.  The most original solution to this problem, was a caregiver who put framed pictures on the doors.  The patient no longer thought of the door as en exit but more as an extension of a wall.  There are many products available to help prevent the patient from leaving the home unsupervised.  Even the most vigilant caregiver may experience a lost loved one, this brings us to the Wanderer's Identification Program.
